Alignment Certification

This course provides the theoretical and practical information necessary to perform a proper wheel alignment and the vehicle’s necessary additional calibrations. On successful completion of this course, the individual will be recognized as a "Certified Alignment Specialist" authorized to perform suspension and alignment measurements and adjustments on vehicles under Mercedes-Benz factory warranty.

This course will provide theoretical as well as “hands on” knowledge of brake control systems & components and active driving assistance systems on Mercedes Benz passenger vehicles.

Gasoline Engine Mechanical

This course provides theoretical and practical experience on the Engine Mechanical & Electronic Management for gasoline engines M270 and M274. Attendance at this course is recommended for technicians intending to perform mechanical work or electronic diagnosis on these engines. In addition to mechanical and engine management systems, this course will cover the setting of cam and valve train alignment.

Engine Management

This course will describe the current engine management system used in Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles and Mercedes –Benz Vans known as ME-SFI. The system operation and features will be covered using classroom introductions, and supported through workshop activities. Workshop activities will allow the technician the opportunity to practice system operation and impact of components in the management of fuel injection, ignition, on-board diagnosis and more.

Automatic Transmission (Optional)

This (OPTIONAL) course encompasses the 5 speed (722.6) and 7 speed (722.9) automatic transmissions installed in Mercedes-Benz Passenger & Van vehicles. These Transmissions and their related components will be covered using classroom introductions, and supported through workshop activities. Workshop activities will allow the technician the opportunity to practice disassembly and assembly of both transmission types. In addition the process of performing a transmission adaptation will be covered in theory and practice.

High Voltage Qualification for PLUG-IN HYBRID Series-Gen 3

This course covers Generation 3 Plug-In HYBRID vehicles and their High Voltage systems. Upon completion, the learner will be able to:

  • Explain new nomenclature changes and drive train naming
  • Perform a standard walk-around explaining features of Gen 3 Plug-In HYBRID models
  • Describe and demonstrate operation of systems from a customer point of view
  • Explain vehicle networking and energy management principles
  • List the drivetrain configuration and explain basic operation
  • Describe operation strategy and modes of operation
  • Demonstrate correct XENTRY procedure for disable and initial startup of HV systems
  • Explain various actual values available through XENTRY Diagnosis
  • Diagnose Plug-In HYBRID concerns observing all safety measures
  • Describe High Voltage safety rules, definitions, and the qualification concept
  • Describe High Voltage manual power-down process and evaluate results
  • Explain High Voltage insulation resistance test process and evaluate results
  • Describe High Voltage proof test process on hybrid transmissions and correct settings
  • Explain care and use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
